Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) in Washington, DC

When the eyelids begin to droop and sag, they can add years to the appearance and make you look tired or unapproachable. A blepharoplasty at Younger Image Plastic Surgery Center can rejuvenate the eyes to create a more youthful appearance. We offer this and other facial surgery procedures to residents of Washington, DC, Arlington, and surrounding areas of Maryland and Virginia from our offices in Vienna, Woodbridge, and Rockville.

What is a Blepharoplasty?

A blepharoplasty, also called eyelid surgery, is a procedure designed to reduce signs of aging in the eyes. Over time, the eyelids begin to lose volume and sag, contributing to a tired or aged appearance. In severe cases, the eyelids can even interfere with your vision. Blepharoplasty removes excess fat and skin in the eyelids to rejuvenate the eyes and create a younger appearance. Eyelid surgery can be performed on either the upper eyelid, lower eyelid, or both.

How Much Does a Blepharoplasty Cost in Washington, DC?

The average cost of a blepharoplasty ranges from $1,900 to $4,200 but will vary depending on the extent of treatment necessary to deliver your desired results. During your consultation, we will evaluate your cosmetic goals to develop a personalized treatment plan. At this time, we will be able to provide the full cost of your treatment. To schedule any treatment, we ask for a $1,000 deposit that is nonrefundable. Two weeks before surgery, the patient will have a pre-op appointment where his or her full balance is due to be paid in full.

We offer flexible financing options, including Alphaeon® and CareCredit® to ensure that each patient has access to the treatment that they need. Alphaeon® and CareCredit® pay us in full and the patient pays the financing company a monthly fee. We also accept cash, checks, and major credit cards for your convenience.

What is the Blepharoplasty Procedure Like?

At Younger Image Plastic Surgery Center, we are able to perform blepharoplasty with local anesthesia. Small incisions will be made within the natural folds of the eyelids, eliminating any visible scarring. Through these incisions, we remove fatty tissue and excess skin to rejuvenate the eyes and create a smoother, younger appearance. Blepharoplasty typically takes between one and two hours to complete.

What is Recovery like Following a Blepharoplasty?

After a blepharoplasty, the initial recovery period requires about a week of downtime. During this time, patients may experience minor bruising and swelling and will have to take time off of work and other activities. Patients are not able to resume exercise and other strenuous activities
until at least a month after treatment.

Are the Results from My Blepharoplasty Permanent?

A blepharoplasty can produce long-lasting results that take years off of the appearance. However, this procedure cannot stop the natural aging process, and changes in the eyes may develop over time. To ensure that results last as long as possible, we encourage patients to maintain healthy diet, exercise, and lifestyle habits.
